I was a medical student in Myanmar before coming to the United States. After the military coup in 2021, my academic life was in turmoil state, and I felt so guilty back then to continue my education in the country ruled by the military. So, I decided to come to the US and started from scratch. And I still have passion for medicine, I wish to pursue my dream here in the US. For extracurricular activities, I did volunteer during COVID-19 outbreak in Myanmar as part of the medical team with my classmates. I stayed at the quarantine centers for almost a year to assist senior doctors and medical personnel with every knowledge I learnt during my school years. Since, I also cared about my physical and mental health, I joined the inter-university hiking team and went hiking sometimes before the COVID. When I landed on the US ground, and after a year, I joined LaGuardia Community College with a major in biology. I did QSTEM Summer Research Program for two months. Right now, I am working as a CRSP research student with my biology professor on the area of tardigrades and stress-resistant genes.
