Hello, my name is Kimberly Solorzano. I am a first generation student who has the opportunity to advance my education with a college degree. I am currently in LaGuardia Community College following a Criminal Justice Associates degree. My goal is to attend Law school and specialize in the area of Immigration Law. I have done work-study in which I have worked with professors who developed a educational curriculum for teenagers in jails and prisons in New York City. I am currently an ambassador at La Casa de las Americas in LaGuardia Community College. In this program we provide academic help to students who are attending college for the first time, we are a group that welcomes everyone and are willing to help with problems they have. I feel that one of the barriers that I had in mind before entering TSN was if I decided to apply to a private college I wouldn't be able to assist because of the cost. Now I am happy to learn that there are great opportunities for me to continue my studies at a four year college. Thank you for time and I appreciate your exposure to college student like me
