Currently, I've been apart of Break Through Tech AI where I've received my Machine Learning Foundations course certificate from Cornell Tech. I'm apart of AI Studio 1 where I get to work on an industry project for Microsoft with advisement from their team of data scientists to develop a Large Language Model that can generate emoji's that best summarize a document or piece of text. We have been using a STILT approach which isn't widely discussed in the world of ML and hoping to achieve optimal results as our pre-task intermediate labeling finetuning accomplished 91% precision and 81% AUC score. This will culminate in a presentation for Microsoft corporate including our demo for the work we've done in the past 4 months. Another component of AI Studio 1 is mentorship from an industry expert which my current mentor graduated from Yale and is currently a data scientist for Two Sigma Insurance quantified. This has been a tremendous help as every meeting we learn more on how to navigate roles in the tech industry and preparing for interviews. I'm also apart of BNY Mellon's STARTUP campus mentorship program where I've learned a vast amount regarding how big data is used at scale in the financial services sector to enhance the lives of clients across the globe. I finish this program coming this Friday with a chance to obtain a summer internship apart of their FTP intern program. I'm also apart of CRSP where I'm conducting research on distributed systems using TelosB modules and was given the distinction of AI Tech Scholar which is their first year awarding a candidate this honor. Another highlight has been my President and Treasurer role for LaGuardia's STEM club where I got to conduct a virtual workshop with 63 students in attendance to learn more about climate change and how to get involved. I also conducted a workshop on Terminus game to teach students basic linux commands. Lastly, I was sponsored by Capital One to attend their Immersion program over the summer in Plano, Texas for 4 days where me and my team of 6 presented a case study solution, which involved a financial advisor chatbot I developed using OpenAI's API geared towards capital one customers to teach financial literacy and aid in financial inquiries. This led to being sponsored to attend the HACU Adelante Leadership Institute conference where I got too connect with many companies such as Sixth Street, Fidelity, and more. I also got too connect with universities such as Brown and NYU while attending the conference. These experiences and more have given me the confidence that I can excel at a 4 year TSN partnered institution which I would be grateful to attend.
