Impact
At the Transfer Scholars Network, we are working to expand opportunity for high-achieving community college students at highly selective colleges and universities. Too often, first-generation students and those from lower-income, Black, Hispanic, and Indigenous communities do not receive the information, guidance, or support to apply to schools where they can flourish. Since we launched our pilot in January 2021, we’re seeing early signs of impact:
The Transfer Scholars
Building a Pipeline to Highly Selective Institutions
In 2021-22, 110 Transfer Scholars applied to four-year partner institutions.
More than 20 percent of TSN students received offers of admission at TSN four-year partners and more than 10 percent enrolled in Fall 2022. That outpaces the average 15.6 percent overall admission rate at each of these schools. We are proud to begin seeing them at our partner institutions–and other highly selective colleges and universities across the United States.

We look forward to sharing our updated impact next summer, after our next cohort of Transfer Scholars complete the transfer application process. Interested in learning more about our work?
